Where better for a fun and festive 7.5km than the Thornbridge Estate Christmas Markets.
Join us at the UK's quirkiest stately home this Winter to celebrate a great year of Peak District adventures! Enjoy a merry and scenic 7.5km circular trail race taking in the iconic Headstone viaduct and views of Monsal Dale, before finishing back at the estate with a selection of warming post-race treats and free entry to the Christmas Markets.
Santa is scheduled to make a stop, so this will be a great day out for all the family.

Your race entry fee does a lot of good to protect the rural trails and communities that host our events:

For TRA races, to count as an affiliated entrant, you only need to be a member of an affiliated UK Athletics club. You do not need to be registered with England Athletics

To enter this event you must be aged 18 or over on the 29th of November 2026. This is to comply with the UK Athletics rules for competition.

On the morning of the race, head to our race HQ in Thrnbridge Hall to collect your race bib and timing equipment. Be sure to have all of your running gear with you for a mandatory kit check. The start line is roughly a 5-minute walk from registration, so please plan to register a minimum of 20 minutes before the wave start time you select when completing your online registration. Final race instructions will be issued 4 weeks prior to race day.

To minimise the risk of this wonderful event being cancelled by the British weather, we plan for snow and hope for sunshine. Therefore, you MUST bring the mandatory kit listed below to registration for kit check and carry it with you on course. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation of your entry without refund. If we can safely reduce the kit list on the morning of the event, we will inform you at kit check.

Waterproof jacket
Suitable off-road running shoes - fell/trail shoes
GPS device with the route (i.e. watch, phone or similar), or a map & compass with the route marked

Hat/buff and gloves (head and hand cover)
Fully charged mobile phone

8:30am - Registration and Bag Drop open

9:00am - The first wave of runners start

Every 5 minutes - The next wave of 21km runners start

09:15am - Registration closes

09:30am - The start line is closed

10:20pm - The finish line is closed

10:30pm - Winners are announced and spot prizes given

10:45pm - All bags must have been collected from Bag Drop

With limited public transport options to Bakwell on Sunday mornings, we appreciate a car may be your only way of getting here, so we ask that wherever possble you car share with friends and family also taking part, and top marks if you can grab a lift with someone in an electric vehicle.

There is free parking at the Thornbridge Estate. We will provide details of this in the Final Race Instructions doucment sent around 4 weeks prior to race day.
