Based at the iconic Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room in Bakewell, our Beer and Pudding Trail Races are the ultimate trail based treat. Our three routes provide a variety of Peak District trail running for all, exploring the picturesque Monsal Trail, Chatsworth Estate, River Wye, and more. When you arrive back at the Thornbridge Tap Room, we'll be waiting to treat you to a complimentary Thornbridge beer and traditional Bakewell Pudding, and we hope you'll stick around to share some stories of the trail over a few more pints and some pizza.

Your race entry fee does a lot of good to protect the rural trails and communities that host our events:

For TRA races, to count as an affiliated entrant, you only need to be a member of an affiliated UK Athletics club. You do not need to be registered with England Athletics

To enter this event you must be aged 18 or over on the 21st of March 2027. This is to comply with the UK Athletics rules for competition.

On the morning of the race, head to the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room to collect your race bib and timing equipment. Be sure to have all of your running gear with you for a mandatory kit check. The start line is roughly a 5-minute walk from registration, so please plan to arrive at the Tap Room to register a minimum of 20 minutes before the wave start time you select when completing your online registration. Final race instructions will be issued 4 weeks prior to race day.

To minimise the risk of this wonderful event being cancelled by the British weather, we plan for snow and hope for sunshine. Therefore, you MUST bring the mandatory kit listed below to registration for kit check and carry it with you on course. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation of your entry without refund. If we can safely reduce the kit list on the morning of the event, we will inform you at kit check.

13.5km & 21km Course

Waterproof jacket - with taped seams and integrated attached hood
Waterproof trousers - with taped seams
Suitable off-road running shoes - fell/trail shoes
Hat/buff and gloves (head and hand cover)
Spare dry long-sleeve layer
Sufficient nutrition for the race plus an emergency 500 calories

Foil blanket/emergency shelter
Fully charged mobile phone
Drinking water (minimum 500ml filled at start)
Reusable race cup or bottle
Whistle
A GPS device with the route downloaded (i.e. watch, phone or similar), or a map & compass with the route marked

Every 5 minutes - The next wave of 13.5km runners start

10:00am - The start line closes to 13.5km runners and opens for 7km runners

Every 5 minutes - The next wave of 7km runners start

10:10am - Registration is closed

10:30am - The start line is closed

12:00pm - The finish line is closed

12:20pm - Winners are announced

12:45pm - All bags must have been collected from Bag Drop.

With limited public transport options to Bakwell on Sunday mornings, we appreciate a car may be your only way of getting here, so we ask that wherever possble you car share with friends and family also taking part, and top marks if you can grab a lift with someone in an electric vehicle.

There is limited parking at the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room in the Riverside Business Park and so we please ask you to utilise the extensive public parking in town such as at Bakewell Bridge (Pod Point EV charging available) and the Bakewell Showground, and if you do park on public roads please be considerate of residents.
