Based at the iconic Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room in Bakewell, our Beer and Pudding race is the ultimate trail based treat. Both the long (13.5km) and short (7km) routes have been curated to provide a great variety of Peak District trail running for all. Taking in the picturesque Monsal Trail, surrounding woodland, the River Wye and stunning routes across Derbyshire, it's a feast for the eyes as you race your way back to Bakewell. Stick around to socialise with the Trails For Good team and other runners over an optional pint of local ale and a slice of Bakewell's finest pudding.

To enter this event you must be aged 18 or over on the 23rd of March 2025. This is to comply with the UK Athletics rules for competition.

On the morning of the race, head to the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room to collect your race bib and timing equipment. Be sure to have all of your running gear with you for a mandatory kit check. The start line is roughly a 5-minute walk from registration, so please plan to arrive at the Tap Room to register a minimum of 20 minutes before the wave start time you select when completing your online registration. Final race instructions will be issued 6 weeks prior to race day.

LONG COURSE

Runners will be required to carry the below mandatory kit. Failure to present any of the items during kit check in registration or to marshals on course will result in instant disqualification from the event without refund. This is for your safety along with that of our event staff and other runners.

Waterproof jacket - with taped seams and integrated attached hood
Waterproof trousers - with taped seams
Suitable off-road running shoes - fell/trail shoes
Hat/buff and gloves (head and hand cover)
Spare dry long-sleeve layer
Sufficient nutrition for the race plus an emergency 500 calories

Foil blanket/emergency shelter
Fully charged mobile telephone in a waterproof case (or waterproof phone)
Drinking water (minimum 500ml filled at start)
Reusable race cup or bottle
Whistle
A GPS device with the route downloaded (i.e. watch, phone or similar), or a map & compass with the route marked.

SHORT COURSE

Runners will be required to wear suitable off-road running shoes and are strongly advised to wear and/or carry kit appropriate for the expected and potential weather conditions.

Please be aware that the definitive kit requirement list will be sent in the Race Instructions document, shared around 30 days pre-event.

RACE DAY

SUNDAY 23RD OF MARCH 2025

7:30am - Registration and Bag Drop open.

8:00am - The first wave of short and long course runners start.

Every 10 minutes - The next wave of short and long course runners start.

9:15am - Registration is closed.

9:30am - The start line is closed.

12:00pm - Short and Long course close.

12:30pm - All bags must have been collected from Bag Drop.

12:30pm onwards - Enjoy the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room and all Bakewell has to offer.

With limited public transport options to Bakwell on Sunday mornings, we appreciate a car may be your only way of getting here, so we ask that whereever possble you car share with friends and family also taking part and top marks if you can grab a lift with someone in an electric vehicle.

There is limited parking at the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room in the Riverside Business Park and so we please ask you to utilise the extensive public parking in town such as at Bakewell Bridge (Pod Point EV charging available) and the Bakewell Showground, and if you do park on public roads please be considerate of residents.
